Throughout its history, Montexport has responded to its customers and suppliers challenges and needs, by building a wide range of business and creation of new value. Montexport´s history is a story of growth in partnership with society in an expanding and changing world economy.
Year I Event
1980
Montexport Limited foundation and establishment of the roots of export and import business of Rosin and Chemicals.
1981
Pioneer steps have been taken, in order to increase trade with the Asian market in general and with China in particular.
1982
Montexport was the first and only Portuguese company to be present in the first Industrial Exhibition of Macau. It represented important national manufacturers in the field of marble, glazed wall tile and toilet fixtures and accessories, tapestries, silverware, wines and canned foods.
1984
Montexport was the leading promoter of the creation of the "Portuguese Center in Hong Kong and Macau". And, in that same year Montrade was mandated by the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group to provide building materials for the Mandarin Hotel in Macao, Hong Kong and Bangkok.
1987
Montexport begins exporting Portuguese and Spanish wines to the People's Republic of China - at those days dealing with a very "closed" market - and promoting the branding of certain brands.
1990
With the increment of the chemicals business, Montexport expands its operations to new markets such as India, Thailand, USA and Brazil.
2003
Montexport started to represent for the European Market one of the largest semi - state Chinese group which comprises 14 chemical plants.
2006
Montexport started to represent for the European Market other large semi - state Chinese group which produces rosin.
2010
Becomes a licensed exporter of plastic waste from Europe to the Asian market.
2011
Montexport started to represent for the Iberian Peninsula and PALOP, a Chinese manufacturer of aluminum.
2013
Becomes a licensed exporter of paper and metal waste from Europe to the Asian market.
